District Nurse Specialist Practitioner – Overnight Service Role

The Role: District Nurse Specialist Practitioner
An exciting opportunity exists for a District Nurse Specialist Practitioner to join our Overnight Service in Renfrewshire Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP).
Ideal for an enthusiastic and motivated District Nurse seeking to contribute to a supportive, collaborative team environment.
Key Responsibilities
As part of the Primary Health Care Team and in partnership with Clinical Team Leaders, you will:
- Provide clinical and managerial leadership to the nursing team.
- Take day-to-day management responsibility for the overnight service.
- Guarantee person-centred assessment and care planning are delivered effectively.
- Offer clinical supervision and oversight to enhance team performance.
- Promote high standards of patient care and drive continuous improvement within the service.

Location & Working Pattern
- Permanent part-time role: 27 hours per week.
- Shift pattern: Monday–Sunday, 9:30 PM to 7:00 AM.
- Base location: Renfrewshire HSCP.
- Salary is pro-rata for the part-time hours.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
Applicants must possess:
- A Registerable qualification with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), with current Level 1 registration.
- Completion of the Specialist Practitioner Qualification (SPQ) in District Nursing or equivalent recognised qualification.
- Proven experience in District Nursing or Community Nursing.
Skills & Competencies
Successful candidates should demonstrate:
- Clinical leadership and management abilities.
- Expertise in person-centred assessment and care planning.
- Collaborative teamwork within multidisciplinary settings.
- Excellent communication, organisation, and critical decision-making.
- A valid UK driving licence (essential due to frequent community travel requirements).
