Responsibilities
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Leading on finance and accounting for the District
- Advising the Board on financial matters to drive sound decision-making
- Working with Trustees to maintain robust financial management, equity, and transparency
- Ensuring adherence to Scouts policies and relevant legislation
- Overseeing financial record-keeping, including transitioning to digital tools
- Supporting the district’s budgetary needs and reporting
Board Commitments:
- Attend monthly meetings (2-3 hours each) for 8 months of the year
- Participate in an annual away weekend
- Assist with the Annual General Meeting
Together, Trustees ensure the charity:
- Manages money efficiently
- Safeguards assets (buildings, insurance, property)
- Mitigates risks
- Operates effectively for current and future generations

Requirements
We are seeking individuals with:
- Professional experience in finance, accounting, or charities
- Ideal candidate proficiency in digital financial tools such as Xero
- Minimum three years of commitment to the role
- Trustee board experience across other organisations
A deep passion for commentary not required – success here will be your ability to make an impact alongside a community-oriented organisation!
