At Eni, we are looking for a D&IT Digital Business Analyst within Eni Trade & Biofuels (ETB) in London, UK. You will be a key contributor within the Digital & IT team, working closely with colleagues across multiple functions and playing an important role in the digital transformation supporting the company’s energy transition. The role covers the full application lifecycle across the trading businesses, with a particular focus on Middle Office activities for Gas, Power, LNG & Emissions.
We are seeking a Digital Business Analyst who bridges business needs and technology solutions, combining strong business analysis capabilities with a solid understanding of modern digital domains. The Senior Business Analyst maintains a holistic view of solutions, ensures alignment with agreed priorities, and translates business needs into pragmatic, cloud native and data driven outcomes.
This role offers unparalleled exposure to the entire commodity trading lifecycle – both physical and financial – through close collaboration with our Front Office, Risk functions, Finance, Back Office, and multiple business units.

ETB is the trading and shipping company of Eni, covering crude oil, refined oil products and biofuels as well as gas, power, LNG and emissions. (ETS Inc) which handles marketing of oils and petroleum products for the US market. Main responsibilities:
- Partnering with D&IT teams, application management teams, and external vendors to support live applications and drive the evolution of the application portfolio.
- Overseeing day‑to‑day application activities, monitoring issues, service performance, and priorities to ensure alignment with business needs.
- Analysing business needs and translating them into clear, actionable requirements and improvement options.
- Working closely with development and support teams to prioritise and deliver enhancements, fixes, and improvements.
- Leading and supporting requirements definition using appropriate techniques (e.g., workshops, user stories), ensuring clarity, alignment, and fitness for purpose.
- Maintaining a holistic, end‑to‑end view of solutions, understanding impacts, dependencies, and trade‑offs across the wider landscape.
- Driving the evolution of applications towards cloud‑native and data‑driven solutions, balancing operational stability with change.
- Contributing to transformation initiatives with a balanced business‑and‑technology perspective, driving tangible outcomes.
Skills and experience required:
- A university degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or equivalent professional experience.
- Prior experience in a similar role, ideally within a trading/middle‑office environment.
- Understanding of the energy sector, particularly Trading and Middle Office, combined with curiosity about and experience in emerging technologies (e.g., cloud, data analytics, microservices, low/no‑code platforms, AI/ML, BI, cybersecurity).
- Proven capability to define and drive pragmatic transformation strategies in complex environments.
- Strong execution focus, translating vision into realistic roadmaps and tangible outcomes.
- A strategic mindset with the ability to rise above operational noise and maintain an end‑to‑end view of the application landscape.
- Ability to operate effectively in uncertainty, managing ambiguity, constraints, and competing priorities.
- Exceptional stakeholder‑management skills, with the ability to influence across business, IT, vendors, and senior stakeholders.
- Experience rationalising complex reporting or data landscapes, reducing duplication and dependency.
- A bias for action and delivery, focused on enabling progress rather than highlighting problems.
- Fluent level of English.
