Divisional Financial Controller
Heathrow, London | Up to £90,000 + Excellent Benefits
OVERVIEW
AtkinsClarke are delighted to be supporting a leading global logistics and transportation provider with the appointment of a Divisional Financial Controller for their UK business, based at Heathrow. This is a key finance leadership role within a c£100m turnover division, partnering closely with the UK Managing Director to drive financial control, performance visibility and commercial decision-making across the business.

Our client is a global leader in logistics, transportation and supply chain solutions, operating across a wide international network and serving customers across multiple sectors. The UK division represents a significant and growing part of the group, with a turnover of approximately £100m. As the business continues to develop, the finance function is central to supporting operational performance, driving efficiency and enabling sound commercial decision-making across the division.
OPPORTUNITY
Reporting to the UK Managing Director, with a dotted line into group finance, the Divisional Financial Controller will take ownership of financial control and reporting for the UK business, while acting as a trusted commercial advisor to the leadership team. This is a hands-on, broad-remit role suited to a finance leader who enjoys close business partnering alongside strong technical control. Key responsibilities include:

- Leading financial control, reporting and month-end processes for the UK division
- Partnering closely with the UK Managing Director on commercial and operational decisions
- Leading budgeting, forecasting and financial planning cycles
- Producing accurate and timely management information for senior stakeholders
- Ensuring robust financial controls, compliance and governance across the division
- Managing external audit and statutory reporting requirements
- Supporting cash flow, working capital and balance sheet management
- Driving continuous improvement across finance systems, controls and processes
- Leading and developing a finance team, building capability across the function
- Providing commercial insight to support pricing, contracts and operational performance
This is a genuine opportunity to influence the financial and commercial direction of a growing UK division within a global organisation.
PERSON
We are seeking a qualified finance leader who combines strong technical control with commercial awareness and confident stakeholder engagement. You will ideally demonstrate:
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Proven experience operating at Financial Controller level or above
- Experience within logistics, transport, supply chain or a related sector would be highly advantageous
- Strong financial control, reporting and compliance capability
- The ability to business partner effectively with senior operational leadership
- Confidence presenting to and influencing senior stakeholders
- Strong leadership skills with experience developing finance teams
- A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to balance strategic and operational demands
- Based locally to Heathrow, with flexibility to travel across the UK network as required
