University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust Pharmacy department are proud to offer an exciting opportunity to join our Brighton and Haywards Heath sites as Acute and Specialty Medicine Divisional Lead Pharmacist.

We are looking for someone to plan, manage, develop and assist in the leadership and provision of clinical pharmacy services to medicine services across our Royal Sussex County and Princess Royal Hospitals.

This role is eligible for visa sponsorship under the UK Visas & Immigration (UKVI) Skilled Worker route. Sponsorship can only be provided where applicants meet the specific requirements set by UKVI, including the relevant skill and salary thresholds, and any role-specific criteria. For example, applicants for the Senior HCA role must be able to evidence a minimum of 2 years’ experience in the same role to qualify for sponsorship.

As the Acute and Specialty Medicine team manager, the post holder will be responsible for the management and development of all staff providing pharmacy and medicines optimisation services to Acute and Specialty medicine. The post holder will be the lead clinical pharmacy practitioner for Acute and Specialty Medicine responsible for the delivery, development, evaluation and coordination of clinical pharmacy services, working in line with the objectives of the division and the UHSussex pharmacy objectives to provide excellent patient care. The post holder will be responsible for Acute and Specialty Medicine for all aspects of medicines management to provide an expert level of clinical pharmacy services to patients in a chosen area in the division, helping optimise patient care involving the use of medication and will be the lead clinical pharmacy practitioner for all pharmacy aspects including drug expenditure reporting, safety and quality issues, audit, teaching and research & development activities for the division.
