Divisional Managing Director

This is a Divisional Managing Director position leading a standalone division of a high growth Financial Services business in Manchester. This role is newly created and is designed to support the group in delivering ambitious but credible plans to more than double the business in the next 5 years and deliver a financial transaction.

Though this role is Managing Director of a division of a wider group, you would have a high level of autonomy and a real mandate to go out and deliver results without micromanagement. Ultimately this role combines respecting and maintaining the hard work that has generated a genuine high-performance culture and led this division to be the fastest growing, and highest revenue and profit generating businesses within the group looking to improve in all aspects of business performance. You will report to the Chief Executive and wider board.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
