Divisional Managing Director – Digital Operations

The Opportunity

Reporting directly to the CEO, this is an outstanding chance to lead one of the UK’s fastest-growing industrial digital transformation businesses.

Digital Operations already represents ~50% of Group revenue and is a market-leading provider of solutions that transform operational data into measurable commercial advantage. Working with customers across critical infrastructure, manufacturing and beyond, the division delivers solutions spanning:

  • Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)
  • Industrial Data Platforms & AVEVA PI System
  • SCADA, HMI & Industrial IoT (IIoT)
  • Digital Twins & Simulation
  • Asset Intelligence & Condition Monitoring
  • Business Analytics & Operational Performance

The Role

As Divisional Managing Director, you will own the strategic direction, commercial performance and growth of the Digital Operations business.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Own P&L and lead the division’s growth strategy.
  • Develop and execute ambitious commercial & operational plans.
  • Partner with the Sales team to secure major strategic opportunities and grow key customer relationships.
  • Drive innovation & productisation, evolving the division’s digital solutions portfolio.
  • Build, inspire, and develop high-performing multidisciplinary teams.
  • Collaborate with the CEO & Executive Leadership Team to help shape the Group’s overall future direction.

Ideal Candidate

We’re seeking an accustomed commercial leader with a proven track record in growing technology-listed industrial businesses, particularly within:

  • Industrial software, automation, systems integration
  • Operational technology (OT), industrial IoT
  • Digital transformation

You should demonstrate an understanding of how industrial organisations leverage operational data to improve productivity, optimise assets and create competitive advantage. Key attributes include:

  • Significant executive leadership experience with full P&L responsibility.
  • A proven ability to deliver profitable growth in complex technology-centric environments.
  • Strong leadership capability—driving change, building exceptional teams, and fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Credibility across multiple stakeholders, including customers, boards, investors, and senior executive stakeholders.

A hybrid working model is in place, with UK offices in Sheffield, Aberdeen, Glasgow, Alcester & Saltaire, along with international operations in Toronto & Serbia. Regular national and international travel will be required.
