Location: Home-based – covering South West and South East London (including areas extending southward into Surrey). Candidates must live in this area to be considered. View map

About the Role
At Cancer Research UK, we strive to beat cancer for everyone. We’re seeking a proactive, organised and efficient Divisional Operations Executive to support our field-based retail teams.
This new operations structure ensures aligned national strategy with on-the-ground delivery—connecting compliance, performance, and consistency across our shop network. As a DOE, you’ll utilise data to spotlight risks and opportunities, embed new processes, and uphold high standards.
This role drives a proactive, seamlessly connected approach, ensuring our shops optimise income, enhance customer experiences, and meet long-term retail targets.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Oversight
- Maintain and update compliance, health & safety, and operational trackers based on central team and field input.
- Collate monthly/quarterly compliance reports, identifying gaps or missing details and escalating findings.
- Track and support recruitment-related administrative tasks, including remote candidate guidance.

Health & Safety Leadership
- Lead Health & Safety (H&S) documentation, preparing audit files and conducting supplementary audits.
- Monitor and report on mandatory training completion, flagging outstanding items as required.
Retail Team Support
- Collaborate with Profit, Protection and Compliance teams to uphold stock take standards.
- Assure accurate training records and deliver audits in stores when necessary.
- Support weightloss stocktake compliance [Included under the previous point.]
Communication & Coordination
- Attend weekly divisional meetings to discuss shop performance, objectives, and updates.
- Disseminate and organise field team documentation, ensuring timely distribution and archiving.
- Liaise with retail operations as a field representation for new initiatives.
First Point of Enquiry
- Serve as the principal contact for shop or team queries, escalating complex issues as required.
- Engage stakeholders through clear, credible communication (verbal/digital updates).
Instruction Administration
- Manage planned/emergency retail directives, updating logs and storing required documentation.
Requirements

Skills & Competencies
- Proficient in IT/data systems, confident using Microsoft Office and internal business tools.
- Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring precision in auditing, log updates, or reporting.
- Outstanding organisation and time management to meet deadlines for standardised workflows.
- Strong collaborative skills, with a willingness to support colleagues and share knowledge.
- Prioritisation and adaptability—manage pressing workloads and steep deadlines.
- Aligned with our values-based approach (Act with ambition, credibility, humanity, and togetherness).
- High motivation, enthusiasm for growth, and autonomy in workflows.
Preferred Experience
- Prior experience in administrative, coordination, or support functions.
- Experience in multi-site retail operations deemed advantageous.
