Senior Healthcare Administrator – Cancer Care Ward Coordination

About the Role
We are seeking a competent, self-motivated, professional individual who can excel as a flexible team player with exceptional communication skills and the ability to deliver accurate work under tight deadlines. NHS experience is desirable, though not mandatory. Key traits include:
- Strong attention to detail
- Medical terminology knowledge (beneficial but not essential)
- Adaptability within busy, high-pressure medical environments
- Capacity to liaise across all staff levels to ensure data quality and information integrity
This role is critical in supporting multi-disciplinary Cancer Care wards, focusing on:
- Optimising inpatient bed flow coordination
- Maintaining up-to-date documentation within the Trust’s systems
Main Responsibilities
1. Clinical Coordination & Workflow Support
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary healthcare teams to streamline inpatient pathways
- Liaise seamlessly with medical staff during ward rounds to enhance patient care efficiency
- Input and verify patient data into systems like DWL (Doctors Worklist) and generate e-Discharge summaries with accurate findings
- Facilitate knowledge sharing among rotating team members to ensure continuity of care

2. Data Compliance & Reporting
- Input, validate, and audit all patient records to meet Trust compliance standards
- Cross-check and resolve discrepancies in administrative patient data using Trust systems and reports
- Work closely with coding teams to ensure medical information is fully documented and correctly captured for billing and analytics
3. Systems Management & Knowledge Utilisation
- Utilise NHS IT platforms (e.g., e-quest, PACs) to expedite administrative workflows
- Apply typing and word-processing skills (RSA Level 2 or equivalent) to draft reports, correspondence, and discharge summaries
- Translate clinical insights from ward environments into structured, actionable information for administrative use

Essential Requirements

Qualifications:
- NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration or equivalent office-related experience
- RSA Level 2 Typing/Word Processing qualification or equivalent (e.g., verified personal experience)

- Modern medical terminology familiarity (coding or ward exposure advantages)
- Leadership in high-pressure administrative roles with deadline adherence
- Customer-focused administration experience (e.g., clinic or hospital departments)
