Purpose of role:
To provide timely updates and issuing of engineering-controlled documents and Bill of Material (BoM) processing daily to meet agreed/planned deadlines in line with commitments to the customer and engineering timescales. Ensure high standards of document control for right first-time accuracy, efficiency and service level are consistently achieved. Provide fast resolution to any documentation issues identified and support good levels of communication throughout business. Raise overall standards in documentation control using good administration practices.
What are my responsibilities:
- Responsibility for document control, BOM processing and general office administration duties 'on time', safely and to the correct specification and quality standards.
- Deliver good quality and accurately controlled documents using the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Deliver good quality and accurate BOM’s.
- Support the drawing office with all aspects of the Engineering change process and document control (Drawings, Wiring Assemblies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and other documents where needed) and work with engineers to complete any changes that are required.
- To ensure best practice document control and BOM processing standards are adopted & continuously improved.
- To ensure full compliance with Alstom quality standards.
- Ensure KPI targets for RFT, efficiency, cost and service are consistently achieved.
- To adhere to all deadlines and targets set by Drawing Office Manager.
- Establish good working relationships and communication throughout the business.
- To ensure full compliance with UK Health and Safety Regulations and reporting of Health & Safety/HR issues to Drawing office Manager on a timely basis.

- A good understanding of document control, administration, BOM processing disciplines, with quality standards is required.
- PDM or SAP skills are an advantage
- Experience in administration / document control experience using MS office systems within a relevant engineering / manufacturing business or similar if possible.
- Knowledge of Mechanical Design and Electronics an advantage for changes or updates to technical documentation.
- Excellent Communication skills
