Document Controller – Specialist Engineering Contractor
JN Technical are currently seeking a Document Controller on behalf of a specialist Engineering contractor. In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Managing and administrating all project records for the engineering department
- Utilising the appropriate electronic data management system (EDMS)
- Supporting handover and assurance processes from a documentation perspective
- Ensuring all documentation is reviewed, logged, and handled in compliance with the client’s procedures and processes
Key Responsibilities
- Liaising with teams to capture, track, and manage project documentation across the entire engineering and construction lifecycle
- Overseeing document storage, retrieval, archival, and retention in line with regulatory standards
- Facilitating transparency in project documentation to support effective project management

About the Role
This position demands meticulous organisation, adherence to strict documentation controls, and a deep understanding of the UK Construction industry.
Key Skills & Experience Required
- Experience in the UK Construction industry and relevant sectors
- Strong administrative and organisational abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, email management)
- Technical knowledge of EDMS (Electronic Document Management Systems) for records tracking, archiving, retention, and secure storage
- Familiarity with ISO/BSI document management standards, procedures, and instructions
- Experience working within engineering-based or construction environments
- Knowledge of industry-specific documentation processes, including:
- Design documentation
- Vendor & procurement records
- Construction data compliance
- NEC3/ECC contract delivery processes
- Ability to navigate the complexities of an engineering construction project lifecycle, from inception to completion
