London Hybrid - 3 to 4 Days in the Office

£45,000 to £50,000

A leading renewable energy business is looking for a Document Controller to join its Project Controls team, playing a key role in managing project documentation across a growing portfolio of energy projects.

Purpose

You'll be responsible for maintaining project documents, ensuring accurate information is distributed across the organisation on time, and managing the project document control system / EDMS platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute document control protocols and procedures as assigned by the Project Controls Manager
  • Process incoming and outgoing documents: receipt, classification, registry, distribution, archiving, storage, and retrieval
  • Build understanding of project management principles, quality systems, quality plans, and working procedures
  • Implement project management and quality elements within the document control function
  • Monitor control and check points to ensure procedures are being followed
  • Support the development and implementation of document control procedures under the Lead Document Controller or Document Control Manager
  • Enforce approved document control procedures across the project organisation, liaising with other teams and participants
  • Identify non-conformances and report them for resolution
  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve the document control process
  • Prepare document status reports as directed
  • Support training on document control systems and skills transfer
  • Build strong working relationships across project teams and participants
  • Mentor and support junior document control staff through on-the-job training
  • Stay adaptable in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Maintain effective working relationships across a diverse global business

What We're Looking For

  • Strong written and spoken English
  • Minimum 2 years' experience controlling project documents or correspondence on large, complex projects
  • Proven experience with document control procedures and protocols
  • Familiarity with EDMS or project collaboration tools (e.g. Asite, ProArc, SharePoint, LiveLink)
  • Experience implementing procedures on live projects
  • Understanding of project interfaces across disciplines and systems
  • Background in Engineering, Construction, or Resource industries
  • Excellent communication skills, comfortable liaising directly with clients and project teams
  • Able to work independently under written procedures and instructions
  • Strong organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Flexible and willing to travel for training or other purposes
