Document Controller

Location: Dunfermline, Fife

Working Hours: Full-time – Monday to Thursday, 08:00–17:00; Friday, 08:00–13:30 (37.5 hours per week)

Salary: £25,000–£35,000 per annum


Typical salaries for Document Controllers are £25,000–£28,000. Applicants with specialist technical skills or experience may be considered for salaries between £28,000 and £35,000.

Due to continued growth and an increasing workload, Riddell PM is looking to recruit a Document Controller to join our team at our Dunfermline office.

This is an excellent opportunity for an organised, motivated individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and wants to develop a long-term career within the construction industry.

About the Role

As a Document Controller, you will be responsible for coordinating and producing high-quality project handover documentation for a wide range of construction projects across the UK. You will liaise with clients, contractors and suppliers to gather information, monitor project progress and ensure documentation is delivered accurately and on time.

Requirements

The successful applicant will:

  • Be highly organised with excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritise workloads to meet strict deadlines.
  • Be goal-orientated with the drive and determination to consistently achieve monthly performance targets.
  • Be highly computer literate with an excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Have fast and accurate typing skills.
  • Possess excellent telephone and communication skills, with the confidence to liaise with external companies to obtain project information.
  • Be comfortable attending video meetings with clients and providing regular project progress updates.
  • Be able to learn new software quickly and develop a thorough understanding of our Building Manual products and services.
  • Be willing to travel to construction sites throughout the UK when required.
  • Have a positive attitude, strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn.

Skills That May Attract a Higher Starting Salary

Applicants with one or more of the following skills or experience may be considered for a higher starting salary of £28,000–£35,000, depending on the level of expertise they can bring to the role:

  • Mechanical or Electrical knowledge, technical qualifications or relevant trade experience.
  • Experience producing high-quality video content using professional camera equipment and Adobe Premiere Pro.

Desirable Skills and Experience

The following would also be advantageous:

  • The ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
  • Previous experience in a similar role within the construction industry.
  • Experience compiling Operation & Maintenance Manuals or other construction handover documentation.
