Summary

We’re seeking an experienced Document Controller to join an engineering project team based on-site in Blyth. This role is ideal for someone organised, detail-oriented, and confident in handling documentation throughout a project lifecycle. You’ll play a key part in ensuring compliance, accurate record-keeping, and smooth information flow across the project.

Our client works within the engineering and construction sector, delivering high-quality projects with a commitment to accuracy and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update project document control systems and registers
  • Record, track, distribute, and archive project documentation accurately
  • Manage the flow of correspondence, drawings, specifications, and reports
  • Ensure correct document revision control and remove obsolete documents from circulation
  • Distribute new engineering and construction drawings to relevant stakeholders
  • Support project teams by retrieving documents and preparing reports
  • Assist with handover documentation and completion packs
  • Oversee site records, inductions, and administrative requirements

Requirements

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Maths
  • Proven experience as a Document Controller, Project Administrator, or Technical Administrator
  • Background in construction, engineering, manufacturing, oil & gas, renewables, or industrial projects
  • Competence with electronic document management systems (EDMS)
  • Excellent attention to detail, organisational skills, and time management
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Understanding of document numbering systems, revision control, and workflows
  • Qualification in Business Administration, Document Control, or a related field
  • Experience producing project handover packs and technical submissions
