Document Controller
Document Controller – Construction (Critical Role)
The organisation seeks an organised and detail-oriented Document Controller to join its team in the fast-paced construction industry.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Managing, maintaining, and distributing project documentation
- Ensuring accuracy, up-to-date status, and compliance with company and project procedures
This essential appointment requires a candidate able to thrive in a multi-tasking environment, with obligations including:
Responsibilities
- Managing and maintaining project documentation in line with company procedures
- Uploading, distributing, and filing:
- Drawings
- Specifications
- Technical documents
- Ensuring all project documents are:
- Accurately recorded
- Version-controlled
- Up-to-date and issued to the project team
- Monitoring document revisions and latest version issuance
- Maintaining:
- Document registers
- Trackers
- Filing systems
- Liaising with:
- Site team
- Consultants
- Subcontractors
- Clients on project documentation matters
- Assisting with:
- Preparation and distribution of:
- Reports
- Meeting minutes
- Project correspondence
- Preparation and distribution of:
- Archiving completed project documentation in accordance with company retention policies
- Ensuring departmental document control processes remain compliant
- Supporting the project team with broader administrative tasks as needed

Requirements
- Proven experience as a Document Controller, preferably within construction
- Right to work in the UK
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Experience with document management systems (e.g., Aconex, Viewpoint, Asite, 4Projects) is advantageous
- Excellent:
- Organisational skills
- Time management
- Attention to detail
- Strong communication skills (written & verbal)
- Ability to:
- Work independently
- Collaborate effectively in a team environment
- Knowledge of construction documentation and project processes desirable
