About the Company
Our client is a well-established Design & Build contractor specialising in high-quality Cat A & Cat B commercial fit-out and interior refurbishment projects across London and the South East. Delivering projects for blue-chip clients, landlords and occupiers, they have built a strong reputation for quality, innovation and successful project delivery.
Due to continued growth, they are now looking to appoint an experienced Document Controller to join their expanding team.
The Role
As Document Controller, you will play a key role in supporting multiple commercial fit-out projects, ensuring all project documentation is managed accurately and efficiently throughout the project lifecycle.
Working closely with Project Managers, Design Managers, Commercial teams and Site Teams, you will ensure all drawings, technical information, RFIs and project documentation are controlled, distributed and maintained in line with company procedures.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain project documentation from pre-construction through to project completion.
- Upload, distribute and control drawings, specifications, RFIs, technical submissions and project correspondence.
- Maintain document control systems ensuring information is current and accurately recorded.
- Coordinate drawing revisions and issue updated documentation to internal teams, consultants and subcontractors.
- Support Design Managers and Project Managers with document management throughout project delivery.
- Monitor document workflows and approval processes.
- Ensure all project information is filed correctly and easily accessible.
- Assist with O&M manuals and project handover documentation.
- Maintain document registers and trackers.
- Liaise with consultants, architects, subcontractors and clients regarding project documentation.
- Ensure compliance with company document control procedures and quality standards.

Skills & Requirements
- Previous experience as a Document Controller within Design & Build, Interior Fit-Out or the Construction industry.
- Experience working on Cat A and Cat B commercial fit-out projects is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of construction documentation and drawing management processes.
- Experience using document control platforms such as Asite, Aconex, Viewpoint, Procore, FieldView or SharePoint.
- Excellent organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple live projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships across project teams.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- A proactive and collaborative approach to work.
