Document Controller (Maternity Cover) – Hinkley Point C Site
The Opportunity
Role: 12 Month Fixed-Term Contract (FTC – Maternity cover), Full-time Location: Bridgwater – Hinkley Point C site

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Document Controller to join our Document Control Department, monitoring and managing project documentation for KAEFER UK & Ireland at Hinkley Point C.
The main purpose of this role is to:
- Operate and maintain the project document control function.
- Ensure technical, administrative, and safety documentation is captured, indexed, issued, revised, and archived in accordance with:
- Project procedures
- Nuclear quality requirements
- Client standards
Key Responsibilities
As the Document Controller, you will make a significant impact through the following duties:

Version Control & Documentation Management:
- Ensure proper version control for all project-related documents (receipt, storage, distribution, archiving) using Asite (Electronic Document Management System - EDMS).
- Manage document distribution to the Client in line with project requirements.

Provider & Tracking:
- Track and manage all project documents received from the Client, maintaining an up-to-date Master Document Register (MDR) or Controlled Document List (CDL).
- Provide regular progress updates to the Document Control Lead to ensure:
- Deadlines are met
- Quality standards are maintained

Administration & Collaboration:
- Offer guidance on document control procedures and coach less experienced team members.
- Identify and escalate blockers to the Document Control Lead for timely resolution.
- Ensure compliance with KAEFER’s document control procedures for on-site documentation and archives.

Process Improvement & Support:
- Recommend and implement document management enhancements.
- Work with KAEFER’s onsite Quality Team to amend LTQRs (Long-Term Qualifications & Requirements) as required.
- Collaborate with Package Managers to provide Work Acceptance Sheets (WAS), confirming room completion statistics.
- Format documents in Adobe Pro to meet Client requirements.

Record-Keeping & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of documentation status and submit weekly reports to the Document Control Lead.

Administration Support:
- Assist the Document Control Lead with ad hoc administrative tasks.
What You Will Bring
- Essential:
- 2+ years of experience in document control or equivalent role.
- Access to Microsoft Office products (core to day-to-day tasks).
- Computer literacy, particularly Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
- Ability to adapt priorities and deadlines as dictated by the business/Client needs.
- Aptitude for strong communication to engage with third-party/clients.

- Desirable:
- Experience using Adobe Acrobat Pro for formatting documents.
- Understanding of industry-standard Client documentation practices.
- EDMS experience to submit documentation.
- Ability to manage client relations and ensure Client satisfaction.
