Help tell the story of a business on its journey to £50 Million.

JJ Roofing Supplies isn't your typical builders' merchant.

We're a family-run business with ten branches, over 100 employees and one ambitious goal: to become a £50 million business.

Rather than keeping that journey behind closed doors, we've decided to document it.

Road to £50 Million is our YouTube documentary series, taking viewers behind the scenes of the decisions, challenges, successes and personalities driving the business forward. It's an honest look at what it really takes to grow a company, and we're looking for the right editor to help shape the next chapter.

If you're passionate about storytelling, understand how to keep an audience engaged, and want to create content people genuinely choose to watch, we'd love to hear from you.

The Role

Your primary responsibility will be editing our flagship documentary series, Road to £50 Million.

Working closely with our Marketing Lead, you'll help shape stories from real events, turning hours of footage into compelling episodes that entertain, inform and keep viewers coming back.

While editing will be your primary focus, there will also be opportunities to get behind the camera. Whether filming at one of our branches, covering industry events, capturing supplier visits or creating short-form social content, you'll play an active role in bringing new stories to life.

Alongside the documentary series, you'll also edit a variety of supporting content, including:

  • YouTube Shorts
  • Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and TikTok videos
  • Event highlight films
  • Promotional campaigns
  • Product videos
  • Recruitment content
  • Training videos
  • Internal communications

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

No two weeks are the same.

One day you could be crafting a 30-minute documentary episode. The next, filming at one of our branches, producing content from a major trade event or creating a social campaign seen by thousands across the roofing industry.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Editing long-form documentary content from initial assembly through to final delivery.
  • Helping shape storylines, pacing and narrative structure.
  • Selecting music, sound design and visual treatments that enhance the story.
  • Colour grading and audio mixing.
  • Creating titles, graphics and motion graphics.
  • Producing engaging short-form content from documentary footage.
  • Filming on location at our branches, supplier sites and industry events when required.
  • Setting up cameras, lighting and audio for interviews and documentary-style filming.
  • Working alongside the Marketing Lead to identify and capture compelling stories as they happen.
  • Managing media, project files and version control.
  • Delivering content across YouTube, social media, our website and other digital platforms.

What We're Looking For

We're not simply looking for someone who knows how to use Premiere Pro.

We're looking for someone who understands storytelling.

Someone who watches documentaries or YouTube and naturally thinks:

"I'd have edited that differently."

Editing should be your greatest strength, but you'll also be comfortable picking up a camera when the story calls for it. You don't need to be an award-winning cinematographer, but you should understand how to capture footage that makes the edit stronger.

You'll probably be a great fit if you:

  • Have strong experience editing professional video content
  • Have an excellent eye for pacing, emotion and narrative
  • Are confident making creative decisions and taking ownership of projects
  • Can confidently operate professional cameras and audio equipment
  • Able to manage multiple projects while delivering work to agreed production schedules and deadlines
  • Can manage multiple deadlines without sacrificing quality
  • Have strong attention to detail
  • Enjoy collaborating but are equally comfortable working independently
  • Take pride in producing work that people genuinely enjoy watching
