Land Wanted for Long-Term Lease – Forestry Tree Nursery Development
Avalon Forestry Nursery is seeking a long-term land partnership to establish a professional tree nursery supplying native broadleaf and commercial forestry trees for the UK’s rapidly expanding woodland creation, habitat restoration, and environmental planting programmes.
Our aim is simple: to grow high-quality trees that will help create the forests, woodlands, wildlife habitats, and carbon projects of the future.
A Sustainable Approach
The nursery will utilise the Ellepot propagation system, an innovative biodegradable growing method that promotes healthier root development, stronger establishment rates, and reduced environmental impact compared with conventional plastic container systems.
Production Will Be
- 100% peat-free
- Focused on biosecurity and plant health
- Designed to minimise waste and resource use
- Developed with soil health and environmental stewardship at its core
Propagation will take place within moveable polytunnels, with outdoor growing areas used for hardening-off and producing robust, field-ready planting stock.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Supporting Landowners
If you are considering woodland creation, estate forestry, shelterbelts, biodiversity enhancement, habitat restoration, or carbon sequestration projects, I would be pleased to discuss how Avalon Forestry Nursery may be able to assist with species selection, planting advice, and future tree supply.
This is more than a nursery project – it is an opportunity to support the next generation of British woodlands while generating value from underutilised land.
If your land could help grow a future forest, I would be happy to hear from you.
