Buddy – Our Gentle Yet Food-Motivated Boy
Buddy is a wonderful dog once you get to know him, but he comes with two key considerations:
- Overwhelming food obsession: He’s utterly food-focused and extraordinarily clever about stealing nearly anything edible—breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, snacks again! Nothing is safe by default.
- Reactive with new dogs: Despite being a friendly, well-socialised dog outside familiar spaces, he’s become reactive (barking, walking stiff or tense, and even defensive) around new dogs on our development. We suspect it stems from a negative experience and believe he sees the area as his personally guarded territory.
