About This Role

Have you always had a passion for helping dogs? We’re looking for an emotionally driven person with a commitment to animal welfare to join our team in one of our busy rehoming centres.

As a Dog Welfare Assistant, you’ll be the backbone of our operations. You’ll provide daily care to the dogs in our centre, ensuring they receive the highest level of enrichment before finding their forever homes.

  • Providing daily care to dogs in alignment with Dogs Trust’s code of practice and Health and Safety guidelines
  • Educating potential new owners and members of the public on responsible dog ownership, care, and welfare
  • Delivering outstanding customer service to all visitors at the centre

Could This Be You?

We’re looking for a candidate who:

  • Is an excellent communicator, able to show empathy towards both people and animals
  • Thrives in a team environment, bringing energy and a positive, upbeat attitude
  • Has practical experience or passion for working with and handling dogs
  • Has a strong understanding of basic dog behaviour and health concerns
  • Is committed to the mission and objectives of Dogs Trust
  • Holds a full, manual driving licence (driving will be a key aspect of the role)
