The Role
As a Domain Data Modeller, you will be a key member of a domain-aligned agile squad, responsible for:
- Designing and maintaining scalable, business-aligned data models
- Supporting analytics, reporting, and data products
- Ensuring data models accurately represent business domains
- Aligning with enterprise architecture and governance frameworks
- Maintaining metadata, lineage, and catalogue information
This role is ideal for someone who:
- Enjoys working at the intersection of business and technology
- Shapes how data is structured, governed, and consumed
What You’ll Be Doing
- Designing, implementing, and maintaining conceptual, logical, and physical data models aligned to business domains
- Ensuring metadata and lineage are accurately captured and maintained within the enterprise data catalogue
- Translating business requirements into clear, well-structured data models in collaboration with:
- Product Owners
- Delivery teams
- Contributing to solution architecture discussions to ensure scalability and long-term strategy
- Working closely with Data Engineers to validate models against ingestion pipelines and sample data
- Providing high-quality model documentation for downstream development and analytics
- Maintaining data modelling standards and best practices across squads
- Applying change management principles to ensure consistency and traceability of model changes
- Supporting governance and metadata management using recognised data modelling tools
- Capturing and maintaining domain knowledge and model documentation
- Engaging with:
- Architects
- Subject Matter Experts (SMEs)
- Governance and compliance teams as needed
- Managing and contributing to modelling work within the squad’s agile backlog
- Actively participating in:
- Agile ceremonies
- Backlog refinement
- Sprint planning

What We’re Looking For
We seek a skilled data modeller with strong technical foundations and collaborative capabilities across both technical and non-technical teams.
Essential Criteria
- Proven experience in domain or enterprise data modelling on large-scale data platforms.
- Strong understanding of:
- Data architecture
- Metadata management
- Data governance
- Experience using data modelling tools such as Erwin or equivalent.
- Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Azure Data Lake, Databricks).
- Experience with data cataloguing and lineage tools.
- Strong SQL skills and experience with:
- Relational modelling
- Dimensional modelling
- The ability to translate complex business concepts into clear data structures.
- Experience working in agile delivery environments, including:
- Jira
- Confluence
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to balance multiple modelling activities across different business domains.
Desirable Technical Knowledge
- Enterprise and business architecture principles.
- Data governance frameworks (e.g., DAMA framework).
- Data privacy, classification, and handling principles.
- Change management practices for data models in distributed environments.
- Understanding of how data models support BI (Business Intelligence) and analytics use cases.

- Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP)
- Microsoft Azure Data Engineering certifications
