Domestic Assistant (Part-Time) – Clayfields House Secure Unit (Stapleford)
Salary £24,796 per annum (pro-rata) Working Pattern Part-time (17 hours per week), Permanent
About the Role
The Children and Families Department at Nottinghamshire County Council emphasises a strengths-based approach, known as "Our Nottinghamshire Approach", in supporting children, young people, and families.
Clayfields House is a secure residential unit that cares for young people aged 10 to 18 who require extra support. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Domestic Assistant to join a dedicated team, contributing to maintaining a safe, clean, and fulfilling environment for vulnerable children in care.
Key Responsibilities
Your role will include:

Cleaning and maintaining
- High-standard cleaning of all areas at Clayfields House.
- Deep cleaning tasks and emergency spillage/clean-up responses.

Maintenance and supply management
- Restocking consumable cleaning supplies.
- Operating industrial cleaning equipment (vacuums, floor maintenance machines).
- Simple stock control, record-keeping, and defect reporting.

- Adhering to Health & Safety procedures, COSHH, and risk assessments.
- Assisting safeguarding responsibilities as required.

Requirements & Qualities
Candidates should demonstrate:
- Experience of cleaning or domestic services (desirable, but prior experience not mandatory).
- Knowledge of hygiene standards and appropriate cleaning techniques.
- Ability to work effectively independently and collaboratively.
- Strong communication skills and a proactive, positive attitude.
- Commitment to high cleanliness, safety, and child safeguarding standards.
- Willingness to undergo any relevant training.
- An assurance that disclosures and checks will be completed satisfactorily.
