Domestic Assistant – Darcy House Care Home
About Our Home
Our brand-new, luxury care home is nestled in the beautiful town of Matlock, Derbyshire. We provide personalised Residential, Nursing, Dementia, Palliative & Hospice care for 78 residents, delivering exceptional care with warmth and dignity.
The Role: Domestic Assistant
Contract Details
- £12.71 per hour
- 22 hours per week
- Contracted to 4 days (with alternate weekends)
- Paid DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service check)
- Pension scheme participation
- Uniform provided
- 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full-time equivalent contract)
Role Overview
As a Domestic Assistant, you will play a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment that enhances our residents’ wellbeing, dignity, and comfort.
This is a hands-on position, where your attention to detail and high standards will directly improve daily life within the home. Your responsibilities will include:

- Daily cleaning of residents’ bedrooms, bathrooms, and communal areas to ensure high hygiene and Presentation standards
- Supporting laundry services, handling personal belongings with care and ensuring they are returned correctly
- Following infection control, health and safety, and cleaning procedures to maintain cleanliness and safety
- Collaborating with the wider Housekeeping team to ensure the home remains organised, respectful, and comfortable for everyone
Key Responsibilities
- Maintaining a spotless and well-organised care home
- Ensuring all spaces adhere to strict hygiene protocols
- Handling laundry with respect and diligence
- Supporting the team in maintaining cleanliness, order, and safety standards
- Adhering to infection control, health & safety, andară¹ìæµåêâ: guidelines
Who We’re Looking For
- A reliable and positive attitude with a commitment to excellence
- Strong attention to detail and a proven track record of cleanliness
- Ability to work both independently and effectively within a team
- Clear communication skills to interact with colleagues and staff
- A basic understanding of hygiene and infection control (previous experience is beneficial yet not essential)
