Shaw Healthcare advocates for maximum flexibility to foster a healthy work-life balance. We are currently seeking a Domestic Assistant to join our team at Surehaven Glasgow, a Specialist Low Secure Mental Health Hospital registered with Healthcare Improvement Scotland.
Established in 2010, Surehaven Glasgow accommodates up to 21 residents aged 18–65 with primary diagnoses of mental illness, including some detained under Scottish legislation. Residents are accommodated across two gender-specific wards with potential forensic backgrounds.

Main Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitise rooms, including furnishing, in designated areas while maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and tidiness to minimise disruption to service users and their care.
- Exhibit strong interpersonal skills to communicate and engage effectively with service users, their families, and colleagues.
- Demonstrate the ability to work independently with minimal supervision while upholding strict hygiene standards during shifts.
- Use COSHH-regulated products and other cleaning chemicals responsibly.
- Maintain a proactive approach, ensuring high hygiene and orderliness within residential areas.

Requirements
- No prior experience or formal qualification required – training is covered by Shaw Healthcare.
- Essential: Compassionate attitude with the ability to work independently in a sensitive environment.
Salary & Working Arrangements
- Hourly Rate: £13.65 (for 21 hours per week).
- Hours Include Alternative Weekends.
- Shift Pattern: 07:00 – 14:00.
