Domestic Assistant

Accommodation, Catering and Events – Property Team (Cleaning Roles)

Grade & Remuneration

Grade UE02 £24,547 per annum (pro rata)

Hours & Contract Type

  • Part-time options:
    • 30 hours per week
    • 24 hours per week
  • Rotating schedule (5 days over 7), including weekends during commercial period (June – September)
  • Open-ended (permanent)
  • Vacancies: 2

About the Opportunity

As part of the busy cleaning team based primarily in student accommodation, you will ensure our properties remain clean, well-maintained, and welcoming for our students.

Key aspects of the role include:

  • Working within busy student accommodation environments.
  • Handing routine cleaning, maintenance, and property upkeep.
  • Rotational weekend work during peak periods (June – September).
  • Collaboration with a team to uphold high standards.

Accommodation, Catering and Events (ACE) manages:

  • Over 10,000 student spaces, including catered and self-catered accommodation.
  • Support services for student communities.
  • 17 cafés and a range of event spaces, serving students and staff.
  • The University of Edinburgh Hospitality and Events Collection, providing services to 200,000+ hotel guests and 2,000+ events annually.
