As a Domestic Assistant, you’ll be a crucial player in infection control, ensuring the hospital operates effectively and continues to save lives each day. This isn’t just ‘cleaning’—it’s a role that has direct impact. Imagine every wipe, every scrub, and every clean surface helping keep patients safe and recover.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain high standards in ward cleaning, including dusting, mopping, wiping, and scrubbing all surfaces.
- Deep clean ward areas, temperature-controlled rooms, toilets, showers, waiting areas, clinical spaces, and public areas.
- Keep rubbish bins sanitised, maintained, and emptied when full.
- Follow all hospital policies, procedures, and Health & Safety guidelines to ensure cleaning compliance.
- Use specialist equipment effectively and safely.
- Maintain cleanliness in infected and high-risk areas with precision.
- Work opportunely and wholeheartedly to boost patient care and hospital standards.

Key Person Specifications
- A gifted communicator who can engage effectively with patients, visitors, and healthcare teams—sometimes under pressure.
- Flexible approach, able to work with urgency and as part of a strong team.
- Comfortable in a high-pressure, demanding environment, sometimes dealing with patients who are acutely unwell or distressed.
- Health & Safety consciousness, with an understanding of the importance of cleanliness in a hospital setting.
- Willingness to learn and grow—prior experience isn’t necessary, but dedication and attention to detail are essential.
- Passionate about making a positive impact on people’s lives through support.
