We have an exciting opportunity for a Domestic Assistant to join our sheltered housing team on a Fixed Term Contract (1 year). In this critical role, you will provide a high-quality cleaning and domestic service, ensuring our communal spaces and guest rooms are clean, safe, and welcoming for residents, visitors, and guests.
This is a varied, hands-on position that will see you working across multiple sheltered housing sites, maintaining high standards of cleanliness, health and safety, and customer service. About the Role
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing an efficient and professional cleaning service across communal areas, including:
- Lounges, corridors, kitchens, toilets, offices, storage areas, and guest rooms
- Ensuring all spaces are tidy, safe, and maintained to a high standard
- Preparing and cleaning guest rooms in line with occupancy, ensuring full preparedness at all times
- Conducting health and safety checks upon request and promptly reporting any hazards or faulty equipment
- Working flexibly across multiple sites to meet shifting operational demands
- Supporting residents by offering a welcoming, helpful, and empathetic service
- Signposting repair needs, tenancy issues, or concerns to the appropriate teams

About You
We are looking for a detail-oriented, reliable, and compassionate team member with:
- Successful experience in cleaning or domestic services, demonstrating expertise in maintaining high hygiene standards
- A strong understanding of health and safety protocols, including:
- COSHH, infection control measures
- Safe and effective working practices in a communal environment
- The ability to interact neutrally and sensitively with older and vulnerable adults, adhering to respectful communication standards
- A self-starting attitude with the capacity to prioritise tasks effectively in a fast-paced context
- Flexibility and reliability to travel between multiple sheltered housing locations when required
- Basic IT skills with a readiness to complete training and follow operational procedures
- A collaborative mindset to contribute positively to the wider team
