# Domestic Assistant – The Poets, Worthing (#SCNH)


About the Role

South Coast Nursing Homes is a family-owned provider of care across East and West Sussex, operating 9 luxurious nursing homes with a commitment to exceptional resident care—24/7.

At The Poets, a luxury nursing home in Worthing, we deliver superb care while cultivating a supportive environment for our staff. We are expanding and are searching for passionate individuals who prioritise cleanliness, safety, and resident comfort.

This is a vibrant part-time opportunity for a Domestic Assistant—perfect for those who thrive in a people-focused industry and want to grow their career in care.


Hours & Contract

  • Part-time: 21 hours per week (alternating schedule)
    • Week 1: Mon, Wed, Fri – 8am–3pm
    • Week 2: Mon, Fri, Sat – 8am–3pm
  • Hourly rate: £12.76 (weekdays) / £13.40 (weekends)
  • Flexible payments: Earn and access your wages as you progress

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain superior cleanliness & hygiene throughout the home at all times
  • Daily room cleaning: Thoroughly tidy resident rooms post-nursing duty (addressing small details: watering flowers, disposing of waste)
  • Communal care: Vacuum, mop, dust, and de-clutter public spaces, ensuring clutter-free corridors
  • Textile management:
    • Present laundry in clean, ironed condition for residents/re abilities
    • Handle resident-specific clothing carefully, ironing to a high standard
    • Inspect laundry for damages (tears, broken zips) and report concerns to the Matron
  • Carpet/area maintenance: Shampoo carpets as agreed with management
  • Storage & tidiness: Keep utility rooms and storage areas organised for safety and efficiency
