Domestic Monitoring Officer
Location: James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough, TS4 3BW
Salary: £17,334.20 per annum plus excellent benefits
Schedule: Part time 25 hours per week, working Monday – Friday 12.30pm -5.30pm

As a Domestic Monitoring Officer in our Health team, you’ll help ensure hospital environments meet the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and compliance, supporting patient care and wellbeing every day.
Your work plays an essential role in protecting patients, colleagues, and visitors. By delivering accurate audits, identifying improvements, and supporting operational teams, you’ll contribute to safer environments and a positive impact on communities.
What you’ll do as a Domestic Monitoring Officer
You’ll be entrusted to:
- Carry out scheduled and unannounced audits across wards and departments
- Monitor compliance with infection control, cleanliness standards, and service-level agreements
- Record all inspection activity accurately using FM First systems
- Produce detailed reports highlighting findings, trends, and corrective actions
- Track and follow up on non-conformances, escalating where needed
- Support teams with guidance on compliance and continuous improvement

- The ability to manage multiple audits and deadlines effectively

Vetting and checks:
A Standard DBS check will be carried out for this position. This includes spent and unspent convictions, cautions, reprimands, and warnings as permitted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act. An Occupational Health Questionnaire will also be completed so we can ensure you have the necessary support to perform your duties.
