Description

No day will be the same - here are some of the highlights

We have an exciting opportunity to become a Domestic Solar Surveyor at Good Energy during a time of exciting, significant growth. In this role, you’ll play a key part in our installation journey, ensuring every project is accurately assessed before work begins. You’ll carry out technical surveys at customers’ properties, gathering information required to support accurate system design, quotation, validation and safe, efficient installation of solar PV and battery storage systems.

You’ll assess a site's suitability, identify installation constraints, confirm roof and electrical details, as well as providing clear technical information to support design and delivery teams. You’ll also help identify improvements to survey quality, installation readiness and customer experience. This is a vital role in helping us scale our solar operations while maintaining high standards of safety, quality and service.

Responsibilities

  • Travel: This is a field-based role involving travel across your assigned region to complete in-home technical surveys for domestic solar installations. Occasional overnight stays may be required.
  • Deliver high-quality surveys: Conduct thorough site surveys for domestic solar PV and battery installations to support safe and effective system design.
  • Roof assessment: Evaluate roof suitability including orientation, pitch, shading, and available installation space.
  • Accurate data collection: Record precise site measurements, photographs, and technical details to enable accurate system design and planning.
  • Property & electrical review: Assess property layout, access requirements, meter locations, consumer units, and existing electrical infrastructure.
  • Identify installation constraints: Highlight potential installation challenges, health and safety considerations, and any remedial work required before installation.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with design, sales, and installation teams to ensure survey information is complete, accurate, and actionable.
  • Customer support: Support customers through the pre-installation stage by explaining proposed works and setting clear expectations.
  • Timely & accurate reporting: Upload survey outputs accurately and on time to support quotation validation, installation planning, and compliance requirements.
  • Continuous improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance survey standards, operational efficiency, and overall customer outcomes.
  • Proactive mindset: Demonstrate a positive, proactive, and solution-focused approach in all aspects of the role.
  • SLA delivery: Work to agreed service level agreements from survey completion through to design handover and installation readiness.
  • Adaptability: Remain flexible and open to change in a fast-paced and evolving business environment.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What you'll need to succeed

We’re looking for someone who enjoys being out in the field, meeting customers and assessing properties to make great renewable installations possible. With experience of working on a roof, in solar or as an electrician, you’ll take pride in delivering accurate, high-quality surveys that help teams design and plan solar installations right first time. Comfortable working independently and travelling across your region, you’ll be organised, detail-oriented and confident communicating with customers to guide them through the pre-installation journey.

You’ll be naturally curious and solutions-focused, able to identify potential challenges early, whether related to roof suitability, access, electrical setup or safety considerations. You produce clear, accurate survey notes, measurements and photographic records that allow design and installation teams to plan efficiently and deliver a smooth installation experience.

You’ll understand the importance of working to timelines and service standards, ensuring surveys are completed and handed over in a way that keeps projects moving towards installation. Above all, you care about delivering a positive customer experience, communicating clearly, setting realistic expectations and helping customers feel confident and informed throughout the process.
