About the Role
We are seeking dedicated Domestic Assistants/Porters to join an exceptional team at Melburn Lodge. Applicants must demonstrate a strong competence in domestic cleaning, flexibility, and familiarity with the NHS Borders Behavioural Competences.
Key Notes on Working Hours & Pay
As from 1st April 2026, the full-time working week under the Agenda for Change will reduce from 37 to 36 hours for full-time roles. Part-time hours will be adjusted pro rata. Despite this reduction, the hourly rate will increase proportional to the change, ensuring pay is not adversely affected.

Criminal Check Requirements
From 1 April 2025, this role may require a higher standard of criminal record check than currently implemented. If the position is classified as a "regulated role" when assessed, you will be mandatorily joined to the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme. Any future changes in requirements will be communicated either by the Hiring Manager or the Recruitment Team. For more details, refer here.
