Role Description
As a Domiciliary Carer at Cedars Care Ltd, you will provide personal care and practical support to people in their own homes in Nottingham. This full-time, on-site role involves assisting with daily living activities such as washing, dressing, toileting, mobility, meal preparation, and medication prompts, in line with individual care plans. You will monitor and record changes in wellbeing, report concerns to senior staff, and follow all safeguarding, health and safety, and infection control procedures. The role includes building positive, respectful relationships with clients and their families, supporting independence, and promoting choice and dignity. You will also be expected to attend regular training, follow company policies, and work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends, to meet care needs.

Qualifications

- Previous experience in domiciliary care, care homes, or community support, or a genuine interest in starting a career in social care.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and listening skills, with the ability to build trust and maintain professional boundaries.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently in the community, managing time and travel between visits effectively.
- Commitment to person-centered care, respecting privacy, dignity, and individual preferences at all times.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills for record-keeping, care notes, and understanding care plans and medication instructions.
- Willingness to undertake and maintain mandatory training (e.g., moving and handling, medication awareness, safeguarding, first aid).
- Ability to follow policies and procedures, including health and safety, infection control, and confidentiality requirements.
- Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle, or the ability to reliably travel to clients across Nottinghamshire (where applicable).
- Relevant care qualifications such as NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care are desirable but not essential.
- Right to work in the UK and satisfactory background and reference checks, including an enhanced DBS check.
