Domiciliary Care Assistant
Senior Care Assistant (Part Time) – 20 Hours Per Week
Position: Senior Care Assistant Hours: 20 hours per week Hourly Rate: £13.64 per hour Annual Salary Range: £26,598.00

We are now seeking a Senior Care Assistant to deliver compassionate, person-centred care in line with our communities’ values.
Key Responsibilities
Provide and deliver a comprehensive care and support service, including:
- Assisting with personal care and hygiene, ensuring dignity and independence
- Supporting residents with social inclusion—encouraging their interests and activities
- Helping with health and well-being, including:
- Nutrition and hydration
- Medication/creams and mobility assistance
- Shopping and health appointments
- Receiving visitors
- Formulating, reviewing, and maintaining resident care plans and documentation
- Working in compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., GDPR, CQC, HSE, Local Authority guidelines)
Build and maintain positive relationships with:
- Residents and their families
- Wide-ranging stakeholders across the St Monica Trust
- Colleagues in a team-based environment
Perform housekeeping and laundry duties as needed for residents.
** Skills, Experience, and Requirements**
Communication
- Excellent numeracy, literacy, and verbal skills
- Ability to communicate with people of varying needs (e.g., sensory/speech impairments)
- Strong customer service mindset; tailored approaches based on individual needs
- Experience with written records (notes, communications)
Thinking and Problem-Solving
- Analytical skills: evaluates information for resident welfare
- Adapts style to support diverse situations and tasks
- Manages tasks efficiently while anticipating issues
- Troubleshooting, clarifying concerns with line managers as required
- Proactively identifies learning and development opportunities for teams

This role is not limited to clinical duties—staff interact positively with residents in emotional, cognitive, and physical support.

Essential and Desirable Qualifications
Essential
- Care experience with older people, including:
- Those with dementia or complex care needs
- Support for personal care ( bathing, food assistance, mobility)
- Basic IT proficiency (Microsoft Office), with a willingness to learn advanced tools
- Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion understanding—aligned with St Monica Trust policies
- Commitment to ongoing training, including:
- Care Certificate (or willingness to achieve this)
Desirable but not Mandatory
- First Aid certification
- Food Hygiene Safety qualification
- Manual Handling competence
