Role Description

Door Supervisors and Close Protection Officers will provide professional security services at venues and events, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of clients, guests, and staff. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

Close Protection Officers will deliver discreet personal protection, maintain situational awareness, and coordinate with other team members to plan and implement protective measures. All officers will be expected to:

  • Complete detailed incident reports
  • Follow company procedures
  • Communicate clearly with venue management and law enforcement when required

This is an on-site role based in Southampton.

Qualifications

  • Valid SIA licence for Door Supervision and/or Close Protection, with up-to-date training in relevant security practices.
  • Strong conflict management, de-escalation, and negotiation abilities, with a calm and professional approach under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact respectfully with diverse members of the public and clients.
  • Good situational awareness, risk assessment, and decision-making skills to identify potential threats and act proactively.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team, follow instructions, and collaborate with colleagues, venue staff, and emergency services.
  • Reasonable level of physical fitness and stamina, with the ability to stand for extended periods and respond quickly to incidents.
  • Previous experience in security, door supervision, or close protection is highly beneficial; experience in event or corporate environments is a plus.
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required, and to adhere to all legal and company policies, including confidentiality and data protection.
