Availability Window
Unless otherwise arranged, you must be available for shifts during the following availability windows within the week, excluding Thursday:
- Sunday: 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM
- Monday: 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM
- Tuesday: 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM
- Wednesday: 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM
- Friday: 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM
- Saturday: 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM
Key Details:
- Shifts will be scheduled within these times.
- You’ll receive 3 weeks’ notice of your scheduled shifts.
- Flexibility is supported - if your provided availability closely aligns with ours, we’re happy to consider you.
Your Responsibilities
Here’s what you’ll be expected to focus on:
- Deliver exceptional customer service – Understand customer needs, offer natural and friendly service, and ensure they leave satisfied.
- Be product knowledgeable – Develop expertise about the products and services in your store.
- Support store operations – Assist across store sections (e.g., service desks, picking, and replenishment areas).
- Apply training proactively – Apply safety, effectiveness, and service best practices learned.
- Timely decision-making – Take the right actions for customers, including adhoc routines that meet their needs on schedule.
- Represent our values – Participate in seasonal, community, and charity events to create an inclusive, welcoming atmosphere.
- Contribute to profitability – Monitor store sales, reduce waste, and maintain product quality.
- Handle deliveries – Occasionally assist with receiving deliveries.
- Personality & spirit – Be proud of yourself and our brand while fostering a welcoming culture.

Requirements
To thrive in this role, we’re looking for:
- A commitment to delivering impeccable customer service, from greets to checkout.
- Strong communication & problem-solving skills – Building rapport and making customer-centric decisions.
- Teamwork & initiative – Contributing positively to work culture and adapting when needed.
- Punctuality & presentation – Arriving on time, neatly dressed, and ever-ready as an ambassador for Tesco.
Pay & Work Parameters
- Base pay: £13.28 per hour for stores outside the M25; £14.55 for stores within the M25 (adjusted hourly rates may apply depending on your location).
- Hours: A minimum of 16 guaranteed hours per week (or as little as 12 hours). We recognise different life stages and adjust where possible.
