Consultant (.NET + DevOps, AWS)
Location: Glasgow, UK
Work Mode: Hybrid (2 days per week in the office)
Contract Duration: 6 Months
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Consultant (.NET + DevOps, AWS) to join a high-performing team supporting the development and delivery of enterprise-grade applications for Barclays. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in.NET Core, Microservices, AWS, DevOps, and Terraform, along with experience building scalable, event-driven applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable applications using.NET technologies.
- Develop and support Microservices-based applications following Event-Driven Architecture principles.
- Build and consume RESTful/Web APIs.
- Develop and maintain WCF services where required.
- Work with Entity Framework (Code First) and ADO.NET for database development using SQL Server.
- Develop web applications using ASP.NET and.NET Framework 4.7 or higher.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps/TFS.
- Collaborate with cross-functional Agile teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Perform unit testing using NUnit.
- Deploy and manage applications on AWS infrastructure.
- Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
- Follow DevOps best practices for automation, deployment, and monitoring.

Required Skills
- 5+ years of experience in software development.
- Strong experience with.NET Core.
- Hands-on experience with Microservices Architecture.
- Experience with Event-Driven Design Patterns.
- RESTful API and Web API development.
- WCF services.
- Entity Framework (Code First).
- ADO.NET.
- SQL Server.
- ASP.NET Web Application Development. -.NET Framework 4.7 or higher.
- Strong C# programming skills.
- Git version control.
- Azure DevOps / TFS Pipelines.
- CI/CD implementation.
- NUnit for unit testing.
- AWS Cloud.
- DevOps practices.
- Terraform.
- Experience working in Agile environments.
