D&R Engineer / ADAS Application Engineer

Location: Dunton, Basildon, Essex (4 days onsite per week)

Rate: £30.18 per hour Umbrella (Inside IR35), increasing to £39.55 per hour after 13 weeks

Contract: Initially until the end of 2026, with potential extensions into 2027

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Please note: A UK Driving Licence is essential to apply.

Visa Sponsorship: Not available - UK residents to apply who can travel to sites within the EU without restrictions.


D&R Engineer / ADAS Application Engineer Lead wanted to support the development and delivery of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) across European EV and Commercial Vehicle programmes.

This is an excellent opportunity to work on cutting-edge vehicle technologies, supporting feature development, systems integration, testing, validation, and programme delivery within a leading global automotive manufacturer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead engineering activities supporting programme milestones and gateways.
  • Support the development and delivery of ADAS technologies.
  • Manage supplier deliverables and engineering commitments.
  • Support ADAS hardware and sensor integration activities.
  • Develop vehicle and customer-specific requirements.
  • Plan, coordinate, and support design verification and sign-off testing.
  • Support prototype builds, vehicle launches, and production issue resolution.
  • Collaborate with systems, manufacturing, and diagnostics teams.

Experience Required

  • ADAS development or integration experience preferred.
  • Automotive electrical and electronic systems experience.
  • Hardware and/or software development background.
  • Systems engineering and requirements management experience.
  • Vehicle testing and validation knowledge.
  • Supplier and project management experience.
  • Automotive product development experience.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience with Ford engineering tools including GPDS, Teamcenter, WERS, AVBOM, eFDVS, VSEM, and AIMS.
  • CAD packaging knowledge.
  • EV and Commercial Vehicle programme experience.
  • Automotive electronics and vehicle integration experience.
