CAD Drafter (6-Month Contract)

Location: Baliol Business Park, Longbenton, Newcastle Upon Tyne (NE12 8EW)

Position Type: Full-Time, Temporary Contract (6 Months)

Salary: GBP15.00 per hour (Equivalent to GBP29,250/yr) + Overtime Available

Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Monday - Friday)

Flexibility: Flexible starting times between 07:00 and 17:00

Workplace: Onsite (Office-based)

Start Date: ASAP

About The Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Drafter / CAD Technician to join our Design and Documentation team in Newcastle. Working alongside global colleagues in the US, India, and Singapore, you will create and revise technical drawings for BioProcess Containers under the guidance of our Design Team Lead.

This is a fantastic 6-month contract with an immediate start, offering a full 2-week initial training course to get you up to speed, followed by daily support from a collaborative team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drafting and Design: Use AutoCAD Mechanical to build simple to complex product drawings using predesigned blocks or manual geometry.
  • System Management: Support a global design queue using Salesforce (SFDC), PDM Enterprise (for revision control), and MasterControl (QMS).
  • Costing: Generate cost files for completed designs using LISP commands within AutoCAD.
  • Collaboration: Partner with Design Engineers and Commercial teams to ensure on-time project completion.
  • Quality Control: Conduct thorough self-checks on drawings to maintain high standards of accuracy.

What We Are Looking For

The Essentials

  • High proficiency in AutoCAD is a non-negotiable requirement.

Education/Experience

  • High school diploma/equivalent with previous drafting experience, OR a Technical Drafting qualification / Associate Degree.

Software Skills

  • Competence in MS Teams, Outlook, and Excel.

Attributes

  • Strong organizational skills, great attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
