I am partnered with a specialty Millwork contractor who has embarked on a rapid growth trajectory doubling their size in the past 2 years. Focused within high-end commercial interiors, luxury residential projects, hospitality environments, custom casework, panel systems, wall cladding, reception desks, fixture packages, and specialty fabrication this firm has carved a niche for very high-end work throughout the five boroughs and deep into Long Island.
Your new role
As an AutoCAD Drafter | Draftsperson specializing within the millwork trade the successful candidate will be motivated and detail-oriented. Specializing in commercial and residential millwork construction projects you will assist in creating and modifying shop drawings on high-end millwork projects, ensuring precision and adherence to specific job specifications.
Responsibilities
- Interpret architectural drawings and convert into precise work-ready millwork shop drawings.
- Create detailed technical drawings using AutoCAD software, including plans, elevations, and sections specific to commercial and residential millwork.
- Maintain drawing sets throughout project phases (submittal, approval, and fabrication).
- Update and revise existing drawings as needed to reflect client driven changes, client supplied coordination documents and field surveys.
- Prepare and maintain accurate documentation of all drawing modifications.
- Communicate with Drafting/Engineering management, project managers, and shop personnel regarding design challenges or clarifications.
- Ensure all drawings follow ADA, architectural standards, and internal company drafting templates.
- Assist in planning and executing drafting projects to ensure timely completion.

What you'll need to succeed
- Degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or related field
- Experience in commercial millwork, architectural woodworking, or casework manufacturing.
- Familiarity with shop fabrication processes and hardware applications.
- Understanding of building codes, ADA compliance, and industry standards.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD software.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, millwork manufacturing, or cabinetry fabrication.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, architectural specs, and technical drawings.
- Detail-oriented with strong accuracy in measurements and documentation.
- Ability to multitask and manage deadlines across multiple projects.
- Highly motivated with a strong desire for career growth and development.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Team player with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
