Salary: Up to £57,000 depending on experience

Dynamic (hybrid) working: 2-3 days per week on-site due to workload classification

Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship

Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

The Opportunity:

The role of the verification and validation lead for the physical domain is to co-ordinate the overall physical functionality, performance and constraints of the DragonFire system with the weapons system team in order to ensure the consistency of the weapon system product with system requirements and project commitments.

This includes understanding, communicating and certifying all aspects of the DragonFire Physical Design for all system components, including:

Environmental & EMC performance Power utilisation Storage & Transportability

The V & V lead will need to co-ordinate the work packages for both internal and external suppliers to develop certification strategies for the physical domain. Working with RMO's and DAs to ensure that DVP's have appropriate coverage.

This role will be focused on the physical certification aspects of the systems. Although an understanding of how these sub-systems work will also be required to support product delivery.

As an V and V lead, your main responsibilities will be:

Provide physical design compliance statements and CM for review at system level Design change impact assessment Log and track defects found during V&V activities, and collaborate with development teams to resolve them. Manage Design Verification Plan and requirements in Application Lifestyle Management Lead the technical progress meetings and milestone reviews with the supplier Understand sub-contractor management both internal and external Understand and contribute to the key activities in the engineering development lifecycle such as design reviews (PDR/DDR/CDR) Manage schedule, cost, quality and performance metrics for assigned work packages Work within a multi-discipline engineering team (e.g. Systems, mechanical, electrical, software etc…) Limit technical risks through application of mitigation strategies Design reconciliation activities associated with design change, including generation of verification and validation strategies Uplift of other regulatory documentation such as CE marking Support uplift of key documentation, such as technical publications Responding to Customer queries with regard to product usage, interpretation of compliance, certification, etc.

Knowledge of systems engineering principles, processes and practices Appreciation of requirements engineering at System, Subsystem or Component level Knowledge associated with the design and build of hardware Awareness of test procedures required to verify products and the gathering of evidence to enable certification. Confidence in presenting technical engineering information and promoting decision making Experience of technical report writing and use of configuration management tools
