We at The Drain Team Ltd are looking for an experienced Drainage Engineer to join our growing team on a full-time basis.
This is an on-site role covering London and surrounding areas. The successful candidate will be responsible for attending domestic, commercial, and managed properties to investigate, diagnose, and resolve drainage issues.
Possible daily duties could include carrying out CCTV drain surveys, high-pressure water jetting, manual unblocking, drainage inspections, remedial works, and general drainage maintenance. The role will also involve operating specialist drainage equipment, identifying defects, completing job sheets, and communicating clearly with both clients and the office team.
The ideal candidate will be reliable, professional, and confident working independently while maintaining high standards of workmanship, health and safety, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out drain unblocking, high-pressure water jetting, and general drainage maintenance.
- Complete CCTV drain surveys and accurately identify drainage defects.
- Diagnose drainage issues and recommend suitable repair or maintenance solutions.
- Carry out remedial works where required.
- Operate drainage equipment safely and effectively.
- Complete job sheets, photographs, and site documentation.
- Communicate clearly with customers and the internal office team.
- Maintain company tools, equipment, and vehicles to a professional standard.
- Follow health and safety procedures on all sites.

Requirements
- Previous experience as a Drainage Engineer or in a similar drainage role.
- Practical understanding of drainage systems, blockages, CCTV surveys, and repair methods.
- Experience using high-pressure water jetting equipment.
- Ability to diagnose faults and work independently on site.
- Good communication skills and a professional approach with customers.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
- Full UK driving license.
- Reliable, punctual, and willing to work occasional evenings or weekends when required.

Desirable Experience
- CCTV drainage reporting experience.
- Picote machining or electro-mechanical cleaning experience.
- Patch lining or structural repair experience.
- Excavation or drain repair experience.
- Confined space training.
- CSCS card or relevant site qualifications.
