We are thrilled to announce a major contract win with Southern Water! We are recruiting for a number of Drainage Engineers to work in 2-person teams, covering the whole of Sussex. This is a fantastic opportunity to start a new career with us here at Lanes Group!

About the Role
This critical position ensures our organisation is recognised for quality, compliance, and consistency. We operate 24/7, requiring flexible hours, weekend work, and an on-call rota.
First-time applicants will receive full training, PPE, and access to company resources, ensuring competency and confidence in delivering Lanes’ high operational standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Working in 2-person teams across Sussex, travelling to residential sites via HGV
- Operating high-pressure water jets for restoration work
- Cleaning, clearing, and maintaining drainage systems
- Recording job reports via provided specialist equipment
- Running diagnostic and repair work on drains
- Providing excellent customer service
- Maintaining health and safety standards at all times
- Ensuring vehicle stock is replenished
- Following PPE and safe work practices
- Using VISTEC and Salesforce platforms
- Liaising with Southern Water on progress and updates
- Operating unsupervised in all weather conditions (utilising correct PPE/lone worker systems)
- Conducting risk assessments and maintaining a mature approach to risk management
- Performing inspections of tools, equipment, and plant before/after use
- Reporting defects or malfunctions through training programmes
- Following Lanes Group policies and procedures
Additional duties may be requested by management.

Requirements & Ideal Candidate
Jakook candidates are hardworking, respectful, and safety-conscious.
- Beyond the essential skills:
- Experience with high-pressure jetting equipment (not mandatory)
- Drainage qualifications (e.g., NRSWA, Confined Spaces) are favourable
