HomeServe – Drainage Engineer (Canterbury)
Location: Canterbury Salary: £34,720 - £39,310 (depending on experience) + £1,500 guaranteed bonus in your first year Hours: Average 40 per week (including evenings, weekends and bank holidays)
About the Role
Join HomeServe and play a vital role in keeping our customers’ homes running smoothly as a Drainage Engineer. This field-based position offers variety and autonomy, with no two days the same, as you diagnose and resolve drainage issues across domestic properties.
Your Responsibilities
As a Drainage Engineer, your day-to-day will include:
- Clearing blockages using high-pressure water jetting (HPWJ) equipment
- Investigating drainage problems and identifying root causes
- Carrying out repairs to domestic drainage systems
- Managing jobs independently while maintaining excellent customer service
- Representing HomeServe in customers’ homes with professionalism and care

Requirements
To excel in this role, we’re looking for:
- HPWJ (HighPressure Water Jetting) ticket
- Experience working in drainage
- Full UK driving licence (with no more than 6 penalty points)
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to work independently, diagnose problems on-site, and deliver solutions efficiently
- A positive, proactive approach to your work

Training & Support
We’ll set you up for success with:
- Induction (Week 1): Mon-Fri classroom training at our Walsall Head Office
- On-the-job training (Week 2): Shadowing an experienced HomeServe Drainage Engineer
(Where required, accommodation and meal allowances are paid for during induction.)
