We are thrilled to announce a major contract win with Southern Water! We are recruiting for a number of Drainage Engineers to work in two-person teams, covering the whole of Sussex, as part of our Patching and Lining team. Position: Drainage Engineer – Patching and Lining
Location: Budds Farm WTW, Havant, Hampshire Job Type: Permanent, full-time Hours: Monday to Friday, 50 hours per week Salary: £16.00 to £18.00 per hour (OTE £41,700 to £46,900 per annum) Benefits:

About the Role
We are seeking customer-focused individuals to join our Utility Division, working on our Southern Water contract to deliver effective waste-water network and drainage solutions.
- Work in two-person teams, travelling in specially-equipped vans to residential sites across the region.
- Repair and maintain drainage systems, including installing patch liners for first-time-fix sewer and drain repairs.
- Utilise the Picote system to remove scale, roots, and hard obstructions that cause standard high-pressure jetting equipment to fail.
- Conduct drainage system surveys, assess pip condition, and generate high-quality reports using state-of-the-art surveying equipment.
- Accurately record job reports on specialist software provided.
- Deliver excellent customer service while maintaining strict Health & Safety (H&S) standards.
- Manage vehicle stock replenishment.
- Ensure compliance with PPE and safe working conditions for employees, the public, and road users.
- Use VISTEC and Salesforce platforms efficiently.
- Liaise with the client regarding progress and updates.
- Work unsupervised, solo in all weather conditions, adhering to lone-worker policies.
- Conduct dynamic risk assessments on-site.
- Support colleagues and inspect tools and equipment pre/post-use.
- Report maintenance or malfunctioning equipment/processes.
- Implement rigorous risk assessments with a mature approach to risk.
- Operate safely under all Lanes Group policies.
- Execute any other reasonable ad-hoc tasks requested by management.

Essential Skills & Qualifications
The ideal Drainage Engineer candidate should:
- Have a work-ready attitude and commitment to health and safety standards.
- Previous experience with high-pressure jetting equipment is an advantage (but not essential).
- Confined Space Entry Training (AP2) would be beneficial.
- Other drainage qualifications, such as NRSWA and OS19X, are advantageous but not compulsory.
