Drainage Technician
About the Role
The Drainage Technicians are responsible for attending domestic and commercial sites, investigating wastewater.
They:
- Diagnose and resolve customer issues
- Collaborate on-site with commercial and domestic customers
- Make appropriate recommendations after investigating problems
Key Responsibilities

Customer Liaison
- Engage professionally with customers in a customer service capacity
- Provide clear, accurate advice to customers

Technical Tasks
- Conduct site surveys to diagnose issues
- Recommend and implement solutions, including:
- Drain clearance
- De-scaling and root cutting
- Minor excavations and patch lining
- Preventative maintenance
- Use tools:
- High-pressure water jetters
- CCTV camera survey equipment
- Manual rods

Reporting & Problem-Solving
- Identify potential concerns and suggest additional work where needed
- Interpret drainage drawings
- Work independently within areas of expertise

Team & Brand Support
- Enhance brand awareness through professional conduct and technical expertise
- Share knowledge and best practices with colleagues
- Give recommendations to Regional Development Managers for regional success
- Resolve operational/performance/compliance issues in line with brand standards
Experience & Qualifications
- Experience:
- 2+ years in drainage
- Experience in plumbing principles (preferred)
- Drainage tanker experience (preferred)
- Certifications & Skills:
- Full UK driving licence with flexibility to travel
- CSCS card holder (preferred)
- Ability to use a mobile telephone (calls, emails, CRM applications)
- High-pressure water jetting (HPWJ) certification
- Strong verbal & written communication skills
- Compliance:
- DBS check required as part of compliance
- Rota Commitment:
- On-call, 24-hour service requirement
