About the Role

We are seeking customer-focused professionals to join our Utility Division, supporting the Southern Water contract. As a Van Pack Drainage Engineer, you will primarily travel to residential sites, equipped with high-pressure water jetting tools to:

  • Restore clarity and functions to drainage systems
  • Diagnose, repair and clean drains efficiently
  • Record each job accurately using bespoke platforms (VISTEC & Salesforce)
  • Provide outstanding customer service during onsite visits
  • Maintain strict Health & Safety standards, including proper PPE usage, vehicle stock management, and lone-worker protocols
  • Conduct risk assessments dynamically, ensuring safe operations in all weather conditions
  • Collaborate with colleagues, clients, and site supervisors
  • Inspect and maintain tools/plugins, reporting defects as needed
  • Complete essential ad-hoc tasks, such as bookkeeping and route planning, as requested

Job Details

📍 Location: Millbrook Depot (Southampton) – works door-to-door once competent 🕒 Hours: Monday–Friday, 45 hours per week 💰 Salary: OTE £35,000 (basic + overtime) 🏆 Forecast: High-growth opportunity for career development

Key Responsibilities (Recap)

  • High-pressure water jetting restoration work on-site
  • Testing, clearing, and maintaining drainage systems
  • Saving, Recording, and reviewing diagnostics using Lanes’ platforms
  • Ensuring full H&S compliance, including PPE, lone-worker inspections, and risk assessments
  • Mostly independent fieldwork, requiring sound judgment in adverse weather conditions
  • Customer liaison updates as part of service delivery

What’s Expected

🔹 Lone-working readiness with safe risk mitigation for all site visits 🔹 *Fully reCiP (Confined Space) trained (Valuable, though entry-level training given) 🔹 Full UK driving licence required ⚠️ Rota-based coverage: May include weekends and on-call duties for full operational capacity

Person Specification

Essential

✔ Must hold a full UK car licence ✔ Willingness to work flexibly (including weekends and unsociable hours) ✔ Customer-focused attitude with a solution-driven mindset ✔ Demonstrates the ability to learn quickly and apply health & safety standards ✔ Strong basic numeracy and IT skills ( أعوامabsence with platform systems)

Ideal

🔹 prior high-pressure jetting experience 🔹 Certificated qualification (e.g., NRSWA for drainage) 🔹 Confined spaces training (again, you will receive thorough mentoring) 🔹 Ordinary mechanical/electric aptitude
