Flood Modeller (Drainage Experience Required)

Location: Hemel Hempstead

Salary: Competitive + Benefits

GeographicReference

I'm currently working with a well-established and growing civil and environmental engineering consultancy that is looking to appoint an experienced Flood Modeller to join its expanding team in Hemel Hempstead.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong professional with experience in flood risk and drainage modelling to work on a diverse portfolio of residential, commercial, infrastructure and environmental projects across the UK.

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering flood risk assessments, hydraulic modelling studies and drainage strategies, while collaborating closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Undertake flood risk assessments and hydraulic modelling studies. Develop and review drainage strategies and sustainable drainage solutions (SuDS). Build, run and analyse hydraulic and hydrological models using industry-standard software. Prepare technical reports, calculations and supporting documentation for planning and design submissions. Liaise with clients, local authorities, the Environment Agency and other stakeholders. Support project delivery from initial feasibility through to detailed design stages. Contribute to mentoring junior team members and sharing technical expertise across the business.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
