Build your future with FM Conway.

At FM Conway, our Drainage Operatives play a vital role in protecting communities, preventing flooding and keeping the UK's essential infrastructure running safely every day.

We're looking for motivated Drainage Operatives to join our growing Water and Drainage Management team. Working alongside an experienced HGV Driver as part of a supportive two-person crew, you'll learn specialist skills, work with industry-leading equipment and be part of a team where no two days are ever the same. Whether you're carrying out planned drainage maintenance or responding to emergency callouts, you'll finish every shift knowing you've made a real difference. Please note the working hours for this role will be 6am to 4pm.

Much of your work will involve cyclical gully maintenance, giving you the opportunity to build experience while working as part of a consistent programme of works. You'll also have the opportunity to earn performance-related bonuses on eligible cyclical gully cleaning contracts, rewarding high-quality work and productivity.

Grow your career with us

We're committed to developing our people. If you demonstrate the right attitude and successfully complete your probation period, you'll have the opportunity to undertake our HGV Apprenticeship Programme, allowing you to gain your HGV licence and progress your career within FM Conway.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
