Drainage Operative – Nights (Lutterworth, Leicestershire)
FM Conway is recruiting a Drainage Operative to join our dedicated Water and Drainage Management team, supporting critical infrastructure across the highway network. Working as part of a two-person skilled crew, you’ll carry out essential tasks such as cleaning, clearance, repair, and maintenance of drainage systems. Whether you have prior experience or are starting a new career, we provide full training and ongoing support to help you grow.
This is a full-time, permanent role based in Lutterworth, Leicestershire.
About the Role
The Drainage Operative – Nights will:
- Assist HGV Drainage Engineers with a variety of drainage tasks, including high-pressure water jetting (HPWJ) to inspect, clean, and maintain drainage networks.
- Conduct drainage cleaning and investigations to identify and resolve issues.
- Support the safe and efficient use of high-pressure water jetting equipment.
- Respond to reactive and emergency callouts to address urgent drainage problems.
- Accurately operate the GIS Trimble unit, following company procedures and safety protocols.

Responsibilities
- Work closely with engineers to ensure drainage systems remain operational and efficient.
- Perform technical maintenance while adhering to strict safety guidelines.
- Contribute to emergency response tasks, investigating and resolving drainage failures.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and documentation in field operations.
Skills & Experience
- Must hold a valid full UK driving licence.
- Experience with high-pressure water jetting is advantageous (not mandatory—on-api training provided).
- A CSCS Card and/or Confined Space Ticket would be valuable for quicker role integration.
